Guiding & Instruction

Here at Rattlesnake Rods we offer guiding and instruction at any level or skill set. 

Guiding: We offer guiding to the rivers and streams of North West NJ on weekends only from March through June, water temperature dependent. We strictly practice catch and release only. Its hard enough for NJ trout to survive a summer, so the more that remain the more chance for survival. Cost for guiding is as follows:

• Full day - 8 or more hours $335/1-person, 2-people $400.
• Half day - 4 or more hours $250/1-person, 2-people $335.
• By the hour with a minimum of 2 hours $100/hour 1-person, $150/hour 2-people.
  
  

Guiding includes: The guide and flies. Most other equipment can be rented, except waders. We can either meet you at the stream or provide the transportation from our destination.

Instruction: We offer instruction on any aspect of fly fishing including Entomology/Tying Flies, Building/Refinishing rods, casting, etc. At the request of the client, most type of equipment is available free or for rental. Contact us.

Learning to fly fish can be quite overwhelming. Don't let that keep you from trying it. We've talked with many people over the years who think they are not capable or always wished they had tried it. DON'T be one of those people! We are dedicated fly fisherman with over 80 combined years of experience in all aspects of fly fishing. This knowledge and experience is what we bring to all of our guiding and instruction sessions. We are extremely confident that we can quickly get you the knowledge and experience needed to start catching trout, tying flies or building rods.
